April 11 - Update on the proposed closure of Leslie Bowling Greens. The Regina Lawn Bowling Club made a presentation to City Council on Monday evening, April 10th outlining why the Greens should stay open There was great support from the Lawn Bowling Community: 54 supporters attended, many petitions were delivered to the Mayor and City Council. The Mayor stated at the meeting, the City has not made a decision to close the Greens and was complementary that the club’s presentation included working on a win/win situation for both the City and the Club. Next step is the Club will meet with city officials to negotiate a resolution. The club is hopeful and optimistic the Greens will not close! Thanks to everyone for their support and thanks to the Regina Lawn Bowling Club’s Board for all their work!
April 10 - Support the Regina Lawn Bowling Club to save their club by:
1) sign the official RLBC petition,
2) If you live in Regina attend the City Council meeting. the club is presenting a submission to the Regina City Council at the meeting which takes place on Monday, April 10th at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. RLBC’s submission outlines strong reasons as to why the closure of the greens and club is not a viable option. They need to have a large delegation representing the club during the address to City Council. *Please attend the meeting and bring a friend in support. Wear your RLBC shirts (or green shirts or Bowls Canada gear).
