2011 National Results

Aug 2nd-6th 2011 Canadian Junior Singles Championships held in Montreal, Quebec

Nutana's Grant Wilkie won the Men's Gold medal after defeating Regina's Michael Pituley 21-18 in an all Saskatchewan final. Nova Scotia's Braedan Campbell claimed the bronze medal.

Christine Schuknecht defeated Kaitlin Ryan 21-11 to win the Women's Gold medal in an all Ontario final. BC's Jaymee Sidel took home the bronze medal.

Saskatchewan's Michael Pituley lost in a tie-breaker set but brought home the Silver medal in the 2011 World Junior Cup Men's Qualifer. Ontario's Dylan Jacobs won the Gold for the second time having previously won in 2009. In an all Ontario bronze medal match, Jacob Schuknecht beat Trevor Whyte to clam the bronze medal.

Kelly McKerihen from Ontario won her third consecutive World Junior Cup Women's title as she defeated Amanda Berg from Alberta in two straight sets. In the bronze medal game, Katie Patenaude (Ontario) beat Jaymee Sidel (British Columbia) to capture the bronze medal.

Aug 14th-20th 2011 Canadian Championships in Toronto, Ontario

Saskatchewan's Alex Scott won the silver medal in Men's Singles. The gold medal went to BC's Steve Santana and Manitoba's Leo Duseblon took home the bronze.

Saskatchewan's Jon Pituley, Michael Pituley, Grant Wilkie and Murray Pituley defeated the Alberta team of Lyall Adams, Pat Bird, Peter Mok and Stan Nelson 17-12 to take the gold medal in Men's Fours. The Quebec team of Michel Larue, Stephen Woods, Michel Dargie and Ron Lefebvre took home the bronze medals.

The Saskatchewan men’s team also won the Cy English trophy that goes to the men’s team that has accumulated the most points during round robin play. This involves the combined record of the fours (8-1), pairs (4-5) and singles (6-3).  The pairs team was Charlie Taylor (skip) and Duncan Holness (lead).

Aug 25th-31st 2011 Canadian MIxed Pairs Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Jean and Keith Roney captured the gold medals by defeating BC's Vince Mai and Josephine Lee by a score of 22-10 in the championship game. The bronze medals went to Nova Scotia's Cameron Lefresne and Lena Cameron.

Sept 7th-14th 2011  Canadian Senior Triples Championships in Port Alberni, BC

Keith Roney, Garth Zummack and Ralph Van Iderstine claimed the silver medal after going 7-2 in the round robin before Nova Scotia took the gold with a 17-10 win in the championship game. New Brunswick took home the bronze medals.

Congrats to Keith, Garth and Ralph!
