2009 Provincial Results

June 5th-7th - Women's Pairs held at Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club, Men's Pairs held at Nutana Lawn Bowling Club

The Women's Pairs Gold medal winners were Harriette Pituley from the Regina Lawn Bowling Club and Rachel Larson from the Nutana Lawn Bowling Club. The Mayfair team of Clem Grant and Irma Bricker took the silver medals. Elsie Mowery and Joan Sande, another Mayfair team, received the bronze medals.

Harriette and Rachel will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships from August 16th-22nd in Victoria, B.C.

The Men's Pairs Gold medal winners were Jonathan Pituley from the Regina Lawn Bowling Club and Alex Scott from the Nutana Lawn Bowling Club. The Regina team of Keith Roney and David Calam took the silver medals. Doug Propp from Mayfair and Ernie Meid from Moose Jaw teamed up to receive the bronze medals.

Jonathan and Alex will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships from August 16th-22nd in Victoria, B.C.

June 12th-14th - Women's Singles held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club, Men's Fours held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

Jean Roney took the Women's Singles Gold medal by edging fellow Regina bowler Cecilia Gillespie by the score of 21-18 in the final. Cecilia settled for the silver medal while Fran Scott from Nutana Lawn Bowling Club earned the bronze medal.

Jean will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships from August 16th-22nd in Victoria, B.C.

Keith Roney, Doug Propp, David Calam and Ernie Meid won the Men's Fours Gold medals by defeating silver medalists Mark Sutyla, Murray Pituley, Mike Pituley, and Jack Wigham by the score of 18-14 in the final. Roney and Calam bowl out of Regina while Propp is from Mayfair and Meid is from Moose Jaw. Sutlya and the Pituleys bowl out of Regina while Wigham is from Nutana. The foursome of Doug Normand, Gerald Bocking, Grant Wilkie and Bernie Prefontaine took the bronze medals. All are from Regina except Wilkie, who bowls out of Nutana.

Keith, Doug, David and Ernie will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships from August 16th-22nd in Victoria, B.C.

June 19th-21st - Women's Fours held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club, Men's Singles held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

Regina's Merle Ackerman teamed up with Saskatoon bowlers Joan Sande, Hilda Voth, and Felicity Hogg to win the Women's Fours Gold medals over the rain filled weekend. Sande and Voth bowl out of Mayfair while Hogg bowls out of Nutana. Ackerman's team defeated the foursome of Cecilla Gillespie, Sylvia Muz, Marion Piller and Marlene King by a score of 21-8 in the final. Piller bowls out of Nutana while the other silver medalists hail from Regina. The bronze medals went to the Mayfair foursome of Clem Grant, Elsie Mowery, Irma Bricker and Mary Whalen.

Merle, Joan, Hilda and Felicity will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships from August 16th-22nd in Victoria, B.C.

Gary Laurence defeated Mark Sutyla in a nail biting match by the score of 21-20 to take the Men's Singles Gold medal. Laurence bowls out of Saskatoon's Mayfair while Sutyla bowls out of Regina. The bronze medalist was Regina's Ralph Van Iderstine.

Gary will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships from August 16th-22nd in Victoria, B.C.

June 26th-28th - Mixed Pairs held at Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club

The results of the Saskatchewan Mixed Pairs Championship are as follows:

The pairing of Jon and Harriette Pituley defeated Keith and Jean Roney 16-14 in the second game of the A-B final to capture the gold medals. The bronze medals went to Ernie Meid and Clem Grant.

The Pituley mother and son combination will once again represent Saskatchewan as they defend their 2008 Canadian Mixed Pairs Championship. This year's event will be held in MIdland, Ontario, September 13th-19th, 2009.

July 7th-9th - Senior Triples held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

The trio of Cecilia Gillespie, Sylvia Muz and Marlene King won the Senior Women's Triples by defeating Clem Grant, Elsie Mowery and Irma Bricker 22-8 in the final. Jo Urquhart, Mary Coppin and Marg Kushnier settled for the bronze medals.

Cecilia, Sylvia and Marlene will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Senior Triples from August 28th-September 2nd in Kitchener, Ontario.

Keith Roney, David Calam and Ralph Van Iderstine won the Senior Men's Triples by defeating Glen Mowery, Jack Wigham and Gord Ferguson 15-7 in the final. Garth Zummack, Bernie Prefontaine and Wayne Slinn settled for the bronze medals.

Keith, David and Ralph will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Senior Triples from August 28th-September 2nd in Kitchener, Ontario.

July 10th-12th - Junior Singles held at Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club

The 2009 results for the Junior Singles Championships are as follows:

Michael and Kalitta will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Junior Nationals from August 5th-10th at Saskatoon's Nutana Lawn Bowling Club.

October 16th-18th - Indoor Singles Qualifer held at Kinsmen Soccer Centre in Saskatoon

The Provincial Indoor Qualifier for men and women's singles championship was held at the Kinsmen Soccer Centre in Saskatoon from October 16 - 18, 2009.

The women's gold medal was won by Jean Roney from the Regina Lawn Bowling Club and the silver medal was won by Clem Grant, Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club, Saskatoon.

The men's gold medal was won by Doug Propp from the Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club and the silver medal was won by Alex Scott, Nutana Lawn Bowling Club, both from Saskatoon.

The gold medal winners will represent Saskatchewan at the National Indoor Lawn Bowling Championship in Vancouver, B.C. in December 1 - 6, 2009
