2011 Provincial Results

July 10th-12th -Mixed Pairs held at Nutana Lawn Bowling Club

The team of Keith and Jean Roney from the Regina Lawn Bowling Club defeated Regina's Michael Pituley and Saskatoon's Irma Bricker (Mayfair) to win the provincial championship. The third place team was Bud Mowery and Clem Grant of the Mayfair Lawn Bowling Club.

Keith and Jean will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Championship in Winnipeg, Manitoa from August 25th-31st, 2011.

June 17th-19th -Women's Fours held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club, Men's Singles held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

Harriette Pituley (Regina), Rachel Larson (Saskatoon), Janice Robson (Regina), and Merle Ackerman (Regina) captured the Women's Fours' gold medals after winning 18-13 over the team of Jean Roney (Regina), Clem Grant (Saskatoon), Lorie Young (Saskatoon) and Irma Bricker (Saskatoon). The bronze medals went to Joan Sande (Saskatoon), Lorraine Layton (Saskatoon), Jo Urquhart (Regina), and Sylvia Muz (Regina).

Harriette, Rachel, Janice and Merle will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Championship in Toronto, August 14th-20th, 2011.

Saskatoon's Alex Scott defeated Doug Propp (Saskatoon) 21-12 to win the Men's Singles Gold Medal. Regina's Duncan Holness settled for the bronze medal.

June 24th-26th -Women's and Men's Pairs held at Nutana Lawn Bowling Club

Regina's Jean Roney teamed up with Saskatoon's Lorie Young to take the Women's Pairs gold medals over the weekend. Saskatoon's Barb Mannionj and Carolyn Jones claimed the silver while Regina's Vi McPherson and Charlotte Gordon took home the bronze.

Nutana's Charlie Taylor and Regina's Duncan Holness teamed up to take the Men's Pairs gold medals over the weekend. Reginans Mike and Murray Pituley claimed the silver while Regina's Keith Roney and David Calam took home the bronze.

Jean and Lorie along with Charlie and Duncan will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Championship in Toronto, August 14th-20th, 2011.

July 8th-10th - Women's Singles held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club, Men's Fours held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

Clem Grant of Saskatoon's Mayfair defeated Jo Urquhart of the Regina club to capture the title. Clem will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships in Toronto August 15th-20th.

In a thrilling come from behind extra end match the Jonathan Pituley foursome scored a four ender on the last end to tie the game at 16 and win the Men's Fours championship in the extra end over Doug Propps foursome.

The Pituley foursome of Jonathan, Mike and Murray Pituley from the Regina club along with Grant Wilkie of the Saskatoon Nutana club will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships in Toronto August 15th-20th.

Silver Medals go to Doug Propp, Saskatoon Mayfair, Mark Sutyla and Garth Zummack of the Regina club and Ernie Meid, Moose Jaw. Bronze medals go to Keith Roney, David Ackerman, David Calam and Ralph Van Iderstine of the Regina club.

July 15th-17th - Junior Singles held at Nutana Lawn Bowling Club

Regina's Jordan Kos won the Junior Women's gold medal while Regina's Michael Pituley won the Junior Men's gold over the weekend. Nutana's Grant Wilkie took the silver and Mayfair's Parker Laurence claimed the bronze.

Jordan and Michael will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Championship in Montreal, August 2nd-6th, 2011.

July 19th-21st - Senior Triples held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

The Saskatchewan Senior Mens and Womens Triples Championships were held and the results are as follows:

Jean Roney of Regina, Clem Grant and Irma Bricker of Saskatoon Mayfair defeated Merle Ackerman, Marg Kushnier of Regina and Hilda Voth of Saskatoon Nutana 17-9 in the final. Third place went to Saskatoon Nutana team of Marion Piller, Freda Toffolo and Caroline Jones.

Keith Roney, Garth Zummack and Ralph Van Iderstine defeated Bernie Prefontaine, Vern Huber and Larry Grychowski 13-8 in an all Regina final. Third place went to Glen Mowery, Mayfair, Jack Wigham and Robert Hackett of Nutana.

The winners will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Senior Triples Championship September 6th-15th in Port Alberni, B.C.

Sept 24th-25th - Indoor Singles Qualifier held at Regina Lawn Bowling Club

The Saskatchewan Senior Mens and Womens Triples Championships were held and the results are as follows:

Michael Pituley defeated Wayne Slinn 3-1 in an special 3 end tie breaker playoff to win the Saskatchewan Indoor Qualifier Championship played at the Regina Lawn Bowling Club on September 24-25. Garth Zummack won the bronze medal. All three are from the Regina Club. Pituley will now advance to the Canadian Indoor Singles Championship in Vancouver October 24-30. The winner of the Canadian will advance to the 2012 World Bowls Indoor Championship.
